02Founding story
Why Hotreloads exists.
Before Hotreloads, the founding team led frontend and platform engineering inside fast-moving product companies. We kept seeing the same thing: good roadmaps that stalled behind vendors who didn't understand the product, the codebase, or what "urgent" meant in the week before a board meeting.
Most agencies pitch generalist teams. That model falls apart the moment real product complexity enters the conversation.
So we built the kind of team we wished we could hire. A small senior studio that picks its focus carefully and stays honest about what it knows and what it's still learning.
03How we think about focus
Deep on purpose. Narrow on purpose.
FinTech is our primary domain because we're actively building depth there. Our anchor engagement sits in that space, and we're investing in the kind of learning, writing, and event presence that depth actually requires.
Outside that, we work with SaaS scale-ups, AI-enabled products, and data-heavy B2B tools where our core skills carry over directly. These are adjacencies, not pretensions.
We won't tell you we're "fintech-native" after one engagement. We'll tell you honestly where we're deep and where we're learning. And we won't take work where we can't deliver at the level we'd want for ourselves.

We've chosen not to list individuals here. Not because we're hiding, but because our engagements are team-led. The engineer on your Slack is at the same seniority as the one on your architecture review.

Production React and TypeScript at scale. Background in design-system construction, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility, and rebuilding old interfaces while the product keeps shipping.

Senior Mobile Engineer
React Native specialist. iOS and Android parity, offline-safe sync, biometric auth. Has shipped apps where audit trails and crash-free sessions can't be optional.

Senior Data Engineer
Streaming and pipeline specialist. Kafka, Flink, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake. Background in keeping warehouse bills sane and lineage clean enough to pass an audit.

Every engagement runs a weekly demo. If a week passes without something to show, that's a signal, not a bug.

Senior first
No junior on client code without a senior pairing them. Junior work ships when it's indistinguishable from senior work.

Fixed scope, fixed price. No hourly surprises, no scope gaming, no change-order theatre.
Principle 04
Honest scoping
If we're not the right fit, we'll say so. We turn down work when we can't do it at the level we'd want for ourselves.
